    Collapse Overview
    Collapse overview
I am interested in the following research areas: (1) identification of risk and protective factors for cancer; (2) identification of prognostic biomarkers for cancer disease progression; (3) identification of predictors for adverse events associated with cancer treatment; and (4) utilization of HPV vaccine. Currently, I am leading several cancer epidemiology projects at Kaiser Permanente Southern California (KPSC), with an emphasis on non-Hodgkin lymphoma and HIV-related malignancies. I am particularly interested in tissue-based research. In my project of HIV-related diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, we performed tissue microarray and IHC staining to investigate the prognostic significance of several viral markers, cell cycle regulators and anti-apoptotic proteins, utilizing the comprehensive clinical information available at KPSC. My other studies aim at studying the risk/protective factors for cancer development, including the role of certain dietary intake, pharmacological agents and immunomodulation.

PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
