    Dr. Kawatkar’s broad research interests are in health inequity/disparities, health care/pharmaceutical utilization and associated economic, clinical and humanistic outcomes. Dr. Kawatkar utilizes established methods from econometrics, conjoint analysis and net benefit analysis, to evaluate intervention/treatments aimed to improve patient care in real world clinical setting. His research focus at Kaiser Permanente is in advancing methods and understanding in comparative effectiveness, medication compliance and persistence, cost/expenditure data modeling, health related quality of life and health utility elicitation in chronic diseases.
