    Collapse overview
Dr. Sara Tartof is an infectious disease epidemiologist who studies antimicrobial resistance, hospital infections, vaccine safety and effectiveness, antimicrobial stewardship, and coccidioidomycosis, among other areas. She has extensive experience leading and collaborating on single- and multi-site studies and collaborates extensively with state and local health departments. She has led outbreak and field investigations internationally and domestically.

Dr. Tartof is highly accomplished in the design and implementation of studies analyzing data derived from electronic medical records. She is a principal investigator on several federally funded studies. These include a large multi-site study evaluating the impact of California Senate Bill 27 on antibiotic-resistant infections and a study evaluating hospital-based antibiotic stewardship programs. She is also a principal or co-investigator on grants investigating antibiotic-resistant hospital infections, vaccine safety, and other topics.

PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
