Tracy Lieu, MD, MPH, is Director of the Division of Research, Kaiser Permanente Northern California. She leads a group of more than 500 people who conduct studies in clinical effectiveness, delivery science, and epidemiology to enhance the health of Kaiser Permanente members and society at large. She earned her MD at the University of California, San Francisco, her MPH at the University of California, Berkeley, and was a pediatric resident at the University of Pennsylvania and a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar in the UCSF-Stanford program.

Dr. Lieu was formerly with the Department of Population Medicine, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute and Harvard Medical School, where she was a Professor and the founding Director of the Center for Child Health Care Studies. Her national roles have included membership on the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices and the chair of the Health Services Organization and Delivery study section of the National Institutes of Health. She is a practicing pediatrician with Kaiser Permanente Northern California and an elected member of the Institute of Medicine.
