Overview
Dr. Nocon is a health services researcher whose work focuses on the cost and organization of health care in safety net settings. He is interested in understanding how policymakers, insurers, providers, and other stakeholders can work together to support population health and meet the needs of underserved communities. In past work, he has conducted a mixed-methods evaluation of the impact of the patient-centered medical home in a national demonstration project, analyzed utilization for patients obtaining primary care in Federally Qualified Health Centers, and studied outcomes for patients enrolled in managed care programs in Medicaid. Dr. Nocon has methodological expertise in leveraging large administrative databases for research. Prior to his work as a researcher, Dr. Nocon served as a healthcare management consultant to academic medical centers and large integrated delivery systems, including Kaiser Permanente.
