    Collapse Overview
    Collapse overview
John Dickerson is a health economist and biostatistician interested in modeling patient and provider behavior related to adherence as part of observational and controlled research studies.

Dr. Dickerson, who has worked in several roles at CHR for the past 12 years, joined CHR’s Biostatistics Core in 2015. His dissertation research focused on the role of patient adherence in the treatment and prevention of depression. He is currently working on several projects using similar methodology, as well as working on new techniques, to attempt to isolate the causal effects of patient adherence on targeted outcomes as part of controlled trials. These trials include studies evaluating the effect of internet delivered cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) for depression and the effect of augmenting usual care with CBT for insomnia among depressed youth.

Dr. Dickerson earned a bachelor’s degree from James Madison University, a master’s in economics from Oregon State University, and a PhD in health services research at the University of Washington with dual concentrations in health economics and statistics.
