Anh P. Nguyen, PhD, is an Independent Investigator at the Institute for Health Research. His research integrates sociology, epidemiology, and health services research to investigate and improve health and health care in vulnerable patient populations, such as socioeconomically disadvantaged, substance use affected, and criminal legal system involved individuals. He also has interests in research methods for causal inference with observational data, risk prediction, and research translation.

Dr. Nguyen completed his doctoral training in Sociology at the University of Michigan, where he also trained in the Population Studies Center at the Institute for Social Research. He has conducted research on the social and family contexts of overdose risk, mortality consequences of insurance instability, and impacts of social stigma. He has also led efforts to develop, validate, and implement several risk prediction models in clinical care.

PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
