    Dr. Chen's research interests include workplace learning, workplace-based assessments, entrustable professional activities (EPAs), and faculty skill development and support. She serves on the editorial board for Advances in Health Sciences Education, is a member of the International Competency-Based Health Professions Educators Collaborative, and is faculty for the International Course on the Ins and Outs of Entrustable Professional Activities. In 2024, she was recognized by the Alliance for Clinical Education with the Louis N. Pangaro Medical Educator Award.
