overview I am interested in the behavioral, social, and environmental determinants of child, adolescent and adult obesity. I am trained as a behavioral interventionist and have conducted several school health studies to reduce child obesity in low-income, primarily minority school districts. I am currently creating a registry of KPSC patients who have had weight loss surgery for research and patient care management. I am also the lead investigator for KPSC in the national Mental Health Research Network funded by NIMH. My specific interests in this area are cross-cultural mental health promotion and measurement as well as the role of mental illness/health in the etiology of child, adolescent, and adult obesity.
