    Collapse overview
Dr. Jonathan Finkelstein serves as Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine’s Senior Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship. Dr. Finkelstein’s research has focused on the link between clinical care quality and population health. He has conducted observational research using health plan claims on trends in antibiotic prescribing in community practice, studied trends in antibiotic resistance in S. pneumoniae in communities under the joint pressures of antibiotic use and immunization, and conducted community level trials of methods to promote judicious prescribing. Additionally, he has collaborated on studies of pediatric care quality across a range of clinical conditions. In his role at KPSOM, Dr. Finkelstein is responsible for creating a robust environment for students and faculty to engage in research and other scholarly activities. He works collaboratively with research leaders throughout Kaiser Permanente to build a scholarly environment for the school.

PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication.
