    Collapse overview
Dr. Eric Johnson has been working in pharmacoepidemiology for 20 years. His research describes prognosis in the usual care setting and the prediction of clinical events that matter to patients, providers, and policymakers. That research is conducted by the Center for Health Research’s Predictive Analytics Unit, which specializes in developing pragmatic prediction tools that work with electronic health records. Dr. Johnson co-directs the unit.

Dr. Johnson serves as a co-investigator at the Kaiser Permanente Research Affiliates Evidence-based Practice Center (KPRA EPC), where he advises on prognosis and prediction in systematic reviews, including work for the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF). He also advises Kaiser Permanente’s Center for Effectiveness and Safety Research (CESR) on research methods for prognosis and prediction.

Dr. Johnson joined CHR in 2003. He earned his PhD in epidemiology and his MPH from the University of Washington.
